    Hi,

For dentalcare one need to enter practice name and address for UK .Its not available for asian countries. When I did my consultant helped me in registering she basically put her practice address and I got registered. If you know anyone who can do this for you then ask them.Otherwise just do cpds from prodental and isopharm. All the important cpds you can do from these 2.

    Hi Shailaja.

For doing cpd you need to register on above websites specially isopharm and prodental these are 2 of them you need to take annual subscription of both its 36£ for isopharm for a year and you can do all the cpds and 100£+ for prodental and do cpds from there. Its like online training and then you have to pass online assessment for every cpd and fill reflective form which will contain few questions like hoe will you apply this knowledge to your work etc and once you are done they will give you online certificate.

You can just enter the GDC application reference number for now. This reference number could be found in any GDC email which you may have received from them.

    Hi Nadiye.

For 2nd column of 1.7.10 mention cpd staff involvement ,do it from isopharm and mention about professional reference like I mentioned these 2.My professor has mentioned in reference form about team work and stuff so you can mention about these two in work experience column.

The GDC assessment process takes 4 months.

Depending on your circumstances there can be different visas that make you eligible to work i-e if you are married to a UK national etc. If that’s not a case and you are not in the UK already then you would need a tier-2 or a tier-5 visa to come to UK and work. There are many companies go can give you a visa when you are a GDC registered Dentist (i-e my Dentist etc). But unfortunately, they usually don’t sponsor for hygienists or therapists, usually, it is only the complete dentists they sponsor.
The only option here, in this case, is usually a general visit visa to come to the UK and appear for the ORE/LDS exam and then return back. Once you are GDC registered then you can apply for jobs and they will be willing to give a visa.

    Hi Shallu

So basically there is no negative marking so If you are not sure about any mcq just attempt it whatever option you find closest .The minimum passing marks in both paper A and B are 50%, so you have to secure 50%in both papers individually otherwise they fail you even If your 1 paper is pass and other is 49% still you overall fail. And no these percentages doesn’t affect ORE 2 and VTE  once you are passed that’s enough, you can sit part 2 no matter whether you have obtained 50% or 90%.
