So a lot of people have doubts regarding a few things I will try to answers them in as much detail as possible,If anyone else has any knowledge about anything please share with others.

Question 1:Can we apply for hygienist/therapist directly after graduation without doing ORE 1?

Answer: Yes you can ,ORE is not a requirement for applying for these two routes, for these you need paperwork not ORE or any other degree.

Question 2:Can we apply for these two routes while studying for ORE 1 or ORE 2?

Answer: Yes thats the best time to apply for these routes as till that time you have already read about the health and safety laws ,ethics,BDA sheets, how things work in UK etc.I personally applied while studying for ORE 2 so because of courses I have done for ORE 2 I pretty much had the knowledge what are the protocols to follow here.So It was easy for me to fit in this system. But It totally depends on your own preference. If you feel you are confident enough then go for it.

Question 3: If we  are not living in UK right now like have no visa for Uk ,can we apply for hygienist/therapist route?

Answer: Yes you can apply, living in UK is not a requirement but main problem is visa because its extremely rare that any practice or company sponser you ,they mostly sponser overseas dentist who have done ORE and are registered here.So plan things accordingly. Its best to go for ORE in this case. But people who are on any kind of visa like dependant visa they should go for it.

Question 4:Can we apply for both registration at same time?

Answer: Yes you can apply for both,as far as I know you can submit 1 application at once and when it comes back then you can re submit papers again for other registration.Difference is only learning outcome forms, its different for hygienist and therapist.

Thank you very much for this information. I am an overseas trained dentist living outside of the UK (US citizen, trained in Turkey)  but I prefer to work as a dental therapist long-term. So this means it would be useless for me to apply as a dental therapist because of the Visa regulations? I would still have to pass the ORE?

hi roula,Thanks for appreciation. Its completely worth it if you want to work in UK as a dental therapist for long term.See every case is different as you said  you are US citizen so I am not sure whats your visa regulations are I would suggest to confirm it with home office whether you need visa for UK or what other alternative visas you can have. But you can still apply for this route visa is not a requirement but everything comes to visa as I know this thing during my job hunt that practices are very choosy and its very rare that they can sponser you .If in case you donot need visa for UK  because of your nationality then its best to go for this route if not I would recommend you to go for ORE because companies gives you sponsership if you an overseas dentist.I hope it helps.

Hi, while we fill the references form to apply for dental hygienist position does the referee have to stamp the form or just sign it? As there is no space for stamp in the reference form.

Thank you for giving us these tips!

Is there a validity on these registration routes? For instance if I am applying this year for dental therapist but I will only go next to the UK on a student visa. So will my Dental therapist licence be valid then?
