1.Good standing certificate:You will get it from you home country by your dental board.It has to be very recent.

2.Undergraduation Syllabus:This is very important as this registration entirely depends on paperwork and we donot have to give any exam,so they will check everything specially syllabus to see if we have cover everything.You will get your syllabus from your home country and if its in any other language than English you need it to get translated to English and also other documents.

3.Certified copies of all supporting documents.(Can attach any certificates you have related to dentistry)

4.Professional references.(can be as much as you like)

5.CPD certificates: Now this is an important thing,cpds are basically online trainings which you do to keep your knowledge upto date.It includes various topics such as medical emergencies,health and safety,radiography.etc. You have to do it and attach them with your application and write their names in learning outcome forms.I will attach a sample as well.You can do Cpds from various websites,you have to pay yearly subscription and can do as much cpds as you want.I did from 3 of them:

1.ISOPHARM.

2.PRODENTAL.

3.Dentalcare(This is free)

6.If you have done ORE 1 OR MFDS just attach their syllabus as well ,its not compulsory but to make your application strong.

Hi Shailaja.

For doing cpd you need to register on above websites specially isopharm and prodental these are 2 of them you need to take annual subscription of both its 36£ for isopharm for a year and you can do all the cpds and 100£+ for prodental and do cpds from there.Its like online training and then you have to pass online assessment for every cpd and fill reflective form which will contain few questions like hoe will you apply this knowledge to your work etc and once you are done they will give you online certificate.

Firstly thanks for the information. I’ve been doing my CPD’s however I never fill “Reflective Learning” and only chose “NO” at the beginning.
Are you sure we need to fill them?
They don’t look to anything more than be extra survey, also when you chose “No” it telling you that if you are referred by GDC you need to answer them, you know sometimes dentist get sued and GDC will suggest them some CPD to pass.

Apart of being wast of time/ life considering the number of CPD’s beside of lots of CPD from other sources doesn’t have this part.

Hi Ramya,

The documents required are only those which are mentioned above:

1.Application.

2.Learning outcome form of either hygienist or therapist depending on route you are applying for.

3.Good standing certificate as a dentist from your home country by dental council.

4.Cpds certificates.

5.Syllabus of your bds.

6.Syllabus of any additional exam passed like ORE part 1,MFDS,MJDF etc or any masters,diploma you have done.

7.Updated CV

8.List of CPDS you have done along with dates .

Tashfeen could you please tell does your ORE syllabus was signed and stamped by anyone? I have got UK’s diploma in dental nursing and I am trying to understand what are the requirements  for any additional UK course/diploma’s syllabus . I emailed GDC but they only copied the guidelines for the main BDS syllabus  which obviously should has Dean signature stamp etc …

Hello sir,

I have a question about the CPD certificates.

I am a dentist from India. During my BDS, we attended a lot of CPD programs. Can we attach those certificates or should we only use the certificates for the CPD programs we attended OUTSIDE of dental school ONLINE? Please guide me.
