    Hello everyone!

I had independently filled an application for DCP titles-dental nurse, dental therapist , dental hygienist with the GDC in January 2020.I have got their decision a few days ago and they said I did not provide evidence for few learning outcomes under each title in my professional experience or training. Please guide me in ways which I can overcome these outcomes, also I hadn’t given much CPD evidence, so now should I be doing those CPD and starting a new assesment or appeal against the decision of panel?

I have attached the deficiencies in my learning outcomes sent by GDC.

I don’t think they are giving positive reply to anyone nowadays. They will always find some deficiencies even if there are none. So don’t waste time on this process just try to pass ORE or LDS

I have come to learn from someone who would help candidates file such application that GDC is under pressure from local DCP bodies to stop giving this registration to overseas dentists. So don’t waste your time & money. Better to go for nursing course and you may able to fulfill some learning outcomes and then you stand some chance to get some favorable assessment.

<div>Maimuna Mohammed I am sorry to hear it! But I am sure its fixable!

I filled this form with the help of this group, and here in these dissuasions mentioned the most tricky points of learning outcomes and they are covered with recommended CPDs:

    https://orepreparation.com/groups/hygienist-therapist-registration-routes/forum/discussion/how-to-fill-learning-outcome-form-2/

    https://orepreparation.com/groups/hygienist-therapist-registration-routes/forum/discussion/what-cpds-to-do-for-the-therapist-registration/

In addition to Isopharm and Dentalcare, I found one more website with free 10 hours CPDs <font face=”inherit”>https://www.mydentalcpd.co.uk/ there I completed the next CPDs ( you might choose the different ones, </font>depends <font face=”inherit”> on your outcomes gaps) :</font>

<table><tbody><tr><td>Disinfection and Decontamination: Legionella risk assessments – it’s the law</td><td>
    </td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Emergency drugs kit’s save lives</td><td>
</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Ensure your patients successfully maintain their dental implants</td><td>
    </td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Facing Halitosis</td><td>
</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Implants and the importance of aftercare</td><td>
    </td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Putting every patient at ease</td><td>
</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Demographic trends: ageing population and challenges for oral health</td><td>
    </td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Dieting and oral health</td><td>
</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Radiation and Radiological Protection: The Regulations

Also I have asked my employers to mentioned topics like team roles/ team relationships, referrals etc (and many more) in my clinical reference ! In fact I will have 2 clinical reference – first one from the time when I worked as a dentist and second from my UK employer ( I am a qualified dental nurse in UK).

I haven’t applied yet but hopefully it will work in the end!

    Good luck!

P.S. I have one question – did I understand your earlier replay right -they didn’t charged you £500 application process fee? Do we have to pay it at the end, later?

    </td></tr></tbody></table>

Thank you Ana, for your points and tips, I am getting to learn a lot more on this forum.

Could you please elaborate if you can about points you mentioned in your professional references apart from said above?

No they havn’t charged me yet probably because I submitted my application in late december 2019 and not in January which is when additional assessment charges got in place
