Hi Everyone,

So since my last post I have got a lot of questions which were asked frequently so I decided to answer some FAQ here so everyone can benefit.Bear with me its a long post:

Q1.Can we apply for hygienist/therapist with BDS degree /license or any exams required?

A. Yes you can apply for it as long as you have bds/dds degree and no exam required just paperwork.

Q2.Which visa status is required for applying?

A. Guys visa status is not an eligibility criteria for applying for reg. You can apply from ur country as you have to send papers by post.

Q3.Which visa is required to get a job?

A. Well thats the main part,I am emphasizing on visa because although you manage to get a registration main thing is to hunt for a job offcourse.And let me tell u very honestly no company sponsor for a job for hygienist/therapist(I have asked from few)else check your luck..Reason is there isnt shortage of dcps in UK so If they will sponsor you then they have to prove that they didnot find any skilled person in UK thats why they are hiring from overseas.SO think wisely before opting for registration as It will be wastage of efforts and money.Apply only when you have right to work/live in UK.

Q4.Is there any other way of getting in Uk to work as dcp?

A. Yes 3 options.

1. Either you are national and studied from overseas.
2. Get/Are married to Uk national / who has tier 2 visa/any other visa and come here as their spouse dependant.
3. Come for masters on Tier 4 visa . You will be allowed 20hrs of work per week so if you are registered then you can work part-time which means 2 full days and now I have heard gov has announced to give 2 years work permit after degree(Please check it on gov.uk website)although not official yet so in that time you can work full time and also you can give ORE meanwhile and If you get registered as a dentist then u can look for a sponsor and convert to Tier 2 visa(work permit)

NOTE: During tier 4 you cannot work as self employed/do business you can only work as employed.

Now if you want to apply keeping in view all the above mentioned points then you can do the procedure yourself completely or hire someone its totally up to your wish.You can read the procedure in the other discussion posts on here.

Hey!

Can we apply simultaneously to the GDC for writing the ORE and to get a DCP licence?

Also for the DCP registration process, is there a time limit from the time we download our application to the time we send it? And what about the validity of the DCP licence?
